8News team to join Alzheimer’s Association for Walk to End Alzheimer’s 2024
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Lace up your sneakers! 8News is partnering with the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Richmond Chapter, for Saturday morning's Walk to End Alzheimer's. Everyone is invited to join the 8News team to participate and raise donations on Saturday, Nov. 9. Folks can participate for free, but sponsorship donations will go toward funding awareness, care and research into the disease. The walk will be held at City Stadium, located at 3201 Maplewood Avenue. The site opens at 8:30 a.m., the opening ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m., and the walk itself kicks off at 10 a.m. Last year, nearly 2,500 people participated, and fundraising surpassed the goal of $725,000.
