Woman shot in Petersburg home, police searching for persons of interest
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- After a woman was shot inside a Petersburg home in mid-March, police are searching for multiple people who may know something about what happened.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police were at Legends Park for a public event when they heard multiple gunshots across the road.
The officers quickly began to look for suspects and any possible victims. According to police, they then received information that someone had been hit by gunfire inside a home in the 1900 block of Chuckatuck Avenue.
Officers went to the home and found the victim, an unidentified woman. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
