Alzheimer’s Association to host annual statewide conference in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- On Wednesday, March 26, the Alzheimer’s Association will be hosting its annual Dementia conference: "Leading the Way with Care: Community, Awareness, Research and Engagement."

The one-day conference marks the 20th anniversary of the event, which is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Science Museum of Virginia's Dewey Gottwald Center.

The event will also feature expert speakers and panelists who will go over a variety of topics ranging from care coordination, caregiver resources and caregiver well-being.

Over 200 family and professional caregivers with Alzheimer's disease are expected to be in attendance and hear about current Alzheimer's research, as well as learn new strategies that focus on the caregivers and the person with the disease, according to the association.
