Amelia County Public Schools to host food drive in November

AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Amelia County Public Schools is hosting a food drive in November ahead of Thanksgiving, and the deadline for donations is fast approaching. According to ACPS, they partnered with the National English Honor Society (NEHS) to hold a food drive throughout the month of November, and the deadline for donations is coming up on Thursday, Nov. 14. They are currently in need of certain items to make up a Thanksgiving meal, including: Boxes/envelopes of instant potatoes Canned vegetables Boxed stuffing As a result of this drive, people and families of Amelia County will be provided with free Thanksgiving dinners. They reported that over 680 meals were served last year. They will also be collection non-perishable items to be used for blessing boxes for families in the community. Do not send any items with your child that are held in glass jars or contain glass. If you plan on donating, send the items with your child or drop the items off in the front lobby of ACES located at 8701 Otterburn Road, Suite 101.
