American Airlines to double flights from Richmond International Airport to Chicago O’Hare

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Flyers in the Richmond area will soon have more options and flexibility when planning their trips to the Windy City.

American Airlines announced on Tuesday, Dec. 30, that it's doubling daily flights from Richmond International Airport (RIC) to Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) in 2026.

Beginning in February, there will be an additional two daily flights from RIC to ORD, offering travelers a total of four peak daily departures to the airline's third-largest hub in the country.

Tickets for the additional flights are available for purchase on the American Airlines app or on the website.

New additional flights from RIC are part of the airline's expansion in Chicago.

American Airlines announced on Monday, Dec. 29, that it's adding 100 daily departures from ORD to 75 destinations, including Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth and Las Vegas.
