Armed robbery at Hopewell market leaves employee injured
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- An investigation is underway after a commercial armed robbery occurred in Hopewell on Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, March 14 at 1:24 p.m., officers from the Hopewell Police Department responded to Grand Amanecer De Oriente Latino Market & Deli, located at the 2300 block of Oaklawn Boulevard, for the report of commercial robbery.
The initial investigation revealed that two armed masked individuals entered the business, where they then assaulted an employee, resulting in injuries, and held them at gunpoint as they stole money and electronic devices.
The two individuals then drove away, traveling eastbound on Oaklawn Boulevard.
