Arrest made in Loudoun County in connection with January fire in Sterling
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal's Office have made an arrest in an incendiary fire that happened on Jan. 13, 2025, in the 20900 block of Davenport Drive in Sterling.
According to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal's Office, 21-year-old Erazo Ricardo Guerrero of Sterling, Va. was arrested and charged with one count of burning and destroying property, standing grain etc.
Loudoun County emergency communications received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 1:16 p.m., on Jan. 13 for a reported vehicle fire.
Upon arrival, crews said they found a dumpster on fire and a smoldering fire in the back of a semi-trailer -- there was no fire extension to any nearby structure and no individuals or firefighters were injured.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the cause of the fire was incendiary in nature and later identified a suspect.
With the help of Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, Guerrero was later arrested, then charged -- he was being held at the Loudoun County adult detention center.
