AWWA awards Henrico Water for exceptional water quality

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico Water won the American Water Works Association's (AWWA) annual conference for the Best of the Best Water Taste Test.

It was announced on Thursday, June 12, that Henrico Water won the Best of the Best Water Taste Test in the annual conference among 26 other winners from across the nation.

The competition is usually judged by a panel of trained water flavor profilers who rate each water sample based on its flavor characteristics.

According to AWWA's report, the Henrico Water treatment facility began operating in 2004, and authorized to treat 80 million gallon of water daily -- designed for expansion to meet the needs of the county.
