Back-to-School Kickoff: Free backpacks, vaccine clinic and more in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- At the end of July, Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) will host its annual Back-to-School Kickoff, preparing students and families to get pumped up for the first day of school.
On Thursday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., HCPS will host its 2025 Back-to-School Kickoff at the Henrico Sports & Events Center, located at 1 All Star Boulevard in Glen Allen.
According to the school system, the event will include indoor basketball and soccer tournaments, a "Kid's Zone," a DJ and live musical performances, as well as a vaccine clinic, free backpacks and school supply giveaways and other resources.
For those who wish to participate in the basketball tournament, click here to register by Wednesday, July 23.
Backpack and school supply donation are currently being accepted for the event, to donate email face@henrico.k12.va.us.
