Black veteran woman-owned Resolution Winery offers small-batch wines in Petersburg
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- As part of the Honoring Black History series, 8News is highlighting Resolution Winery, a Black, veteran and woman-owned business in Petersburg.
In the morning on Thursday, Feb. 27, 8News Anchors Delaney Hall and Autumn Childress met with Resolution Winery co-founder Krystle Voss to learn more.
Voss explained that the winery opened in January of 2023 after she and her co-founder, Fred Rufus began to learn to make wine together during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She said the winery makes all of its wines itself, with about 14 wines offered on a daily basis.
"We do rotate, in and out, our offerings depending on the seasons," Voss said. "Sometimes, we'll have a seasonal one. We recently had pumpkin over the holidays and we've phased that out. In the summertime, we'll have a lot more fruit-forward ones and slushies, too."
Resolution Winery will host a Music Trivia and Karaoke night on Thursday, March 6 as well as its monthly Sip 'n Smoke wine and cigar night on Friday, March 14, with even more to come.
For more information on its offerings and events, visit the winery's website.
