Cars broken into at Chesterfield fitness center, stolen cards used to shop

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Purses were stolen from two cars parked at a Chesterfield County fitness center in late June, with the thief then going on to use payment cards from those purses to shop at local stores.

The Chesterfield County Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect in a larceny and fraud investigation.

On June 28, two vehicles parked at Woodlake Aquatic & Fitness Center -- located at 14710 Village Square Place -- were broken into, according to police. Purses were stolen from inside the vehicles.

Payment cards from the purses were then used to make fraudulent purchases at nearby Kroger and Walmart stores. Police did not specify the total amount fraudulently spent at these stores.
