Charlottesville man dead after crash involving ejection in Albemarle
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Charlottesville man is dead after he was ejected from his vehicle as a result of a crash in Albemarle County late Monday morning.
Just before 11:40 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, crews with both the Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Monacan Trail Road in the area of Rural Ridge Lane.
When they arrived, first responders learned that the driver of the involved vehicle, 31-year-old Cole Peale-Grody of Charlottesville, had been ejected as a result of the crash.
First responders attempted life-saving measures on Peale-Grody, but he died at the scene.

One of his passengers, who has not been identified by police, was taken to an area hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Per authorities, Peale-Grody was not wearing a seatbelt.
No additional information, such as the nature or cause of the crash, is available as of the time of reporting. The Albemarle County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate.
