Chesterfield County announces new Board of Supervisors Chair, Mark Miller
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors has announced that former Vice Chairman Mark Miller, PhD, has been elected as Chairman.
The election came Wednesday, Jan. 7, and according to a press release from the County's Board of Supervisors, Miller was elected by his peers to the position.
“It is an honor to be serving as chair,” Miller said.
He also represented the Midlothian District and served as the Midlothian District Supervisor after winning the special election in November, 2022. Miller was then re-elected in 2023 and, according to the release, began his first four-year term in January 2024.

Miller also thanked the board's outgoing chair, Bermuda District Supervisor Jim Ingle, for his "steadfast" leadership during what he described as a "very eventful year," especially after the passing of Dale District Supervisor Jim Holland in October of 2025.
"It has been an honor and a privilege, and humbling to serve in this role, but I know it will be in good hands over this next year," Ingle said.
Matoaca District Supervisor Kevin Carroll was also elected as vice chair for 2026 at Wednesday's annual organizational meeting. Carroll previously served as the board's vice chair in 2020 and chair member in 2023.
