Chesterfield County will host third Career Conversation event
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County will be holding their third Career Conversation session on Oct. 25 as a way to give community members and extra boost in their job search.
This program is being done in partnership with Virginia Career Works. Together, the county and Virginia Career Works, are designing a series of programs to support community members through practical tools, personal connections and professional guidance.
The program initially kicked off their first Career Conversations session on Sept. 25 with a technology class at Meadowdale Library.
According to the website, the sessions are for those who are beginning their career journey or changing careers, "the sessions are designed to offer a collaborative and welcoming environment to grow."
"I first learned about Career Conversations through a flyer posted at my local library,” stated one recent participant Jennifer Pollard. "What drew me in was the idea of connecting with real people who could help guide my job search."
Each career conversation session includes the following:
- 30 minutes of networking and light refreshments
- One 30 minute presentation by experienced career professionals
- A Q&A session
- A one-on-one with career counselors
Chesterfield County's Career Conversation program says it's more than an event but, "a gateway to growth, opportunity, and empowerment. Whether you’re reentering the workforce, navigating a life change, or simply exploring what’s next, these sessions offer the tools and community to help you move forward."
The next Career Conversation event will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Beulah Recreation Center.
