Chesterfield firefighters battle Labor Day brush fire behind Walmart

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County firefighters battled a brush fire behind a local Walmart late Monday night.
At about 9:38 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the 12200 block of Chattanooga Plaza for report of a brush fire.
When they arrived, they found a small brush fire in the woods behind a Walmart store. According to fire officials, the impacted wooded area leads up to a nearby quarry.
Fighting the fire proved a bit challenging, per officials, as the terrain of the area made it difficult to access.

The fire was marked under control just before 11 p.m., fire officials said.
