Chesterfield man sentenced to 10 years in prison for trafficking cocaine

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 52-year-old Chesterfield County man was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking.

On Friday, March 7, 52-year-old Urain Alexander Robinson was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

According to court documents, on May 18, 2023, Robinson distributed multiple kilograms of cocaine. He took the cocaine from his home to a co-conspirator's house in Hopewell, where he distributed the cocaine to that person.

Shortly after, another co-conspirator arrived to pick up three kilograms of the cocaine that Robinson had just distributed, but they were soon stopped by police.

According to court documents, law enforcement recovered the cocaine and seized $8,381 in drug-trafficking proceeds from Robinson’s home nearly a year later on May 14, 2024.

Robinson has prior drug-related charges in Virginia and New Jersey between the 1990s and 2000s, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine and heroin, as well as firearms.
