Chesterfield married couple dead after apparent murder-suicide
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A married couple is dead after police say the husband shot his wife and then himself at their Chesterfield County home.
At about 12:11 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to a home in the 3000 block of Waddington Drive for a report of two unresponsive persons.
When they arrived, the officers found 73-year-old Madeline B. Roberts and her husband, 77-year-old Henry H. Roberts, who both had gunshot wounds. They died at the scene.
On Thursday, Oct. 2, police provided an update on this investigation, saying it has been deemed a murder-suicide. It is believed that Henry Roberts shot Madeline Roberts, then shot himself.
