Chesterfield police looking for possible suspect in Christmas Day malicious wounding incident

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Chesterfield County Police Department is looking to identify a man who may have witnessed or been involved in an aggravated malicious wounding incident that happened on Christmas Day last year.

On Dec. 25, 2024, it was reported that a man had been assaulted by two men who were known to him and a third suspect who was not known to him in the 4600 block of Chester Square Road.

As a result of the assault, the victim had serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, the two known suspects -- a 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old man -- were arrested by Chesterfield Police officers on Jan. 16, 2024. They were both charged with aggravated malicious wounding and malicious wounding by mob.

According to a Facebook post from the police department, officers are looking to identify the third man who was not known to the victim.

In screenshots from a surveillance camera in the area, the third man appears to be a slender Black man, who was wearing dark-colored clothing and light-colored Crocs, according to police.
