Chesterfield to host e-cycling, shred event next weekend

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Chesterfield County is hosting an e-cycling shredding event on Saturday, where residents can bring unwanted items.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Clover Hill High School, located at 13301 Kelly Green Lane in Midlothian.

According to county officials, residents can shred up to two small boxes or three grocery bags of personal papers per person for no fee, with those willing to can recycle certain household hazardous waste items.

The following are the items residents can recycle:

  • CRT televisions — charged based on size
    • Less than or equal to 27 inches ($26 per television)
    • Over 27 inches ($37 per television)
  • Hard drive, cell phone and tablet shredding — $8 to $10.50 per item
  • Other electronics — $5.25 to $31.50 per item
