Person seriously injured after crash closes Route 288 south in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A person has been hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash closed all lanes of southbound Route 288 in Chesterfield Friday evening.

According to Virginia State Police, troopers were dispatched to southbound Route 288 near Route 1 at 4:43 p.m. on Friday, April 10 for a two-vehicle crash.

Officials said one person was left with serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The crash has closed all lanes along Route 288 south near Route 1 as of 5:33 p.m., per the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

Motorists have been urged to use the Route 1 exit to avoid delays.
