Chesterfield to host free Trunk or Treat event at county fairgrounds

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County will host a Trunk or Treat event at the county fairgrounds this Halloween season. From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, Chesterfield Parks and Recreation will host this free, family-friendly Halloween event at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds. There will be trick-or-treating across trunks and parking spaces, food vendors and music, according to county officials. Attendees can park at nearby schools, according to officials. Pets are not allowed and you may not bring glass, alcohol or personal drones. County officials said they are looking for "Chesterfield County businesses, government agencies, faith-based organizations, non-profits and community organizations." The following requirements were also listed: Trunk or parking spaces should decorated for Halloween (must not be scary) At least 5,000 pieces of candy must be brought to give away (peanut-free preferred) Two team members must dress up according to your trunk theme and distribute candy for the whole duration of the event Advertising must be limited to one branded sign incorporated into the trunk design or a separate yard sign (no larger than 24”x18”) Promotional material cannot be handed out You can apply by email at ParksRec@Chesterfield.gov.
