Combat robot competition to be held in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A local combat robotics organization will hold a competition in Richmond on Saturday to determine the top bot. The Richmond Area Bot Instigated Destruction, a nonprofit that advances education and engineering through combat robotics, will hold a "Turkey Brawl" competition on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Coastal Church Bethany Campus, located at 1501 S. Providence Road. According to the organization's website, combat robots are machines designed to destroy each other in an attempt to be the best. Doors and pits at the event will open at 9 a.m. with safety and check-in at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. At 10:30 a.m., there will be a meeting for the drivers with the event to begin after.
