Community Health Fair to be hosted in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A free Community Health Fair will be hosted in Petersburg on Saturday, featuring educational sessions, screenings and more.

According to the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health website, the fair will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church Community Health Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 29.

Attendees will reportedly learn more about prescription drug law, nutrition and heart health. In addition, visitors will have access to health resources like blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, COVID-19, flu and TDAP immunizations and Narcan training.

The event will also offer free fruits and vegetables in addition to a bounce house and face painting. A free diaper giveaway will also be held.

The church is located at 44 Halifax Street in Petersburg.
