Company registered out of Henrico home receives contract to build Texas ICE detention facility

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Acquisition Logistics LLC, registered out of a Henrico County home, has received a contract to build a short-term U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Texas.

The company, registered at a home near the Tuckahoe area, was awarded a contract on July 18 to build and run an ICE detention facility in El Paso, Texas, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

News outlets reported the contract was worth roughly $1.26 billion, with the Army providing an initial sum of $231.8 million.

The specific site for the facility will be Fort Bliss, according to reports by multiple news outlets. The facility will reportedly be built to hold 5,000 single adults on a short-term basis, with work estimated to be complete by Sept. 30, 2027.

Bids for the contract were solicited over the internet, and Acquisition Logistics LLC was one of 13 bids, according to the department.

The company was previously awarded multi-million-dollar and smaller contracts from the U.S. Department of Defense, mainly for logistics support, federal records show.

One contract from the department was roughly $5.3 million for "lodging and conference room services" in support of the Trump administration's operations at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Multiple news outlets have reported that this would be the largest immigration detention facility in the country.
