Crash on I-64 east in New Kent causing delays for drivers

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A vehicle crash on Interstate 64 eastbound in New Kent County is causing delays for drivers.
At 12:03 p.m. on Friday, May 23, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reported that the east right lane and right shoulder are closed on I-64 eastbound near the Route 249 exit due to a vehicle crash.
Traffic is backed up for about three miles, as of the time of reporting.
Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes as first responders work to clear the scene.
