Dermot Kennedy to make stop at Richmond’s Allianz Amphitheater
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Irish rock singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy will be stopping at Richmond's Allianz Amphitheater in October as part of his North American headline tour.
At 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, he will perform at Richmond’s Allianz Amphitheater, according to a March 26 release from Live Nation Concerts.
Tickets will be available starting at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, though fans can register now through 5 p.m. on Monday, March 30, here.
General on-sale begins at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 3, which also happens to be the same day that Kennedy's album "The Wight of the Woods" is expected to drop.
Several tracks have been unveiled, including most recently, “Honest,” "Funeral" and "Refuge."
According to a release, "The Weight of the Woods" was largely written and recorded at a studio near Kennedy’s home in rural Ireland, alongside close collaborator Gabe Simo known for his work with Noah Kahan and Lana Del Rey.
"Across its fourteen tracks, the album’s poetry and music draw inspiration, energy, and strength from Kennedy’s native Ireland," a release stated.
Kennedy will perform at iconic venues across the U.S. and Canada, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre and Forest Hills Stadium in New York.
