Deadly pedestrian crash on I-95 claims life of 25-year-old Richmond man on Christmas
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A deadly pedestrian crash left a 25-year-old Richmond man dead on Christmas night on Interstate 95, prompting an investigation by Virginia State Police (VSP).
On Friday, Dec. 26, VSP shared a press release regarding an investigation into a deadly pedestrian crash that occurred on Thursday, Dec. 25, around 9 p.m. on I-95 northbound, near where it connects to I-64 east and N. 7th Street.
VSP said a 25-year-old man was in the northbound lane when he was hit by a tow truck.
The man has been identified by police as Cornell West, of Richmond, who was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities said the driver of the truck stayed on scene and has reportedly cooperated throughout the investigation.
VSP is still investigating the crash.
