Devon Henry recognized at Norfolk State University with renamed tower

NORFOLK, Va. (WRIC) -- A distinguished alumnus is now being recognized at Norfolk State University (NSU) at the Communications Tower for their "symbol of legacy and impact."

The tower is no longer called "Meet me at the tower," it's now “Meet me at the Devon M. Henry Communication Tower," according to a social post from the school.

On Monday, July 14, Spartan alumni and other distinguished guests gathered to celebrate the historic moment at the university after Henry, the founder of Team Henry Enterprises, played a significant role in the historical removal of Confederate statues across the Richmond region.

The tower at NSU is now renamed in honor of Henry, who, aside from being known for removing Confederate monuments, is also known for being a nationally recognized entrepreneur and leader who is reportedly supporting science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students.

As a result, the university said the tower "now stands as a symbol of legacy and impact."
