Diner en Blanc Richmond: Community, food, music and more

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from a special guest on Friday to talk about a unique culinary experience, Diner en Blanc, that will take place in Richmond this weekend.
8News anchors Autumn Childress and Delaney Hall were joined by Christine Wansleben, the co-host of Diner en Blanc, to talk about what people can expect on Saturday, Sept. 13 and the history of the concept.
"This event is a friends inviting friends experience -- everyone is dressed in white, we all arrive at a secret destination somewhere in the city of Richmond, to celebrate community, enjoy a great meal together with friends, new friends, there's music, there's entertainment," Wansleben said. "And this is an event that has been going on worldwide since the late 1980s, so you can find a Diner en Blanc experience in 40 countries, 120 cities around the globe."
This is the eighth annual Diner en Blanc experience in Richmond, and this year's theme has been chosen as Blooming Elegance.
Although this year's event is sold out and registration has closed, Wansleben encouraged people to visit the Diner en Blanc website to stay up to date on all future events, or even pick another city to attend.
