Dinwiddie accepting entries for voter sticker design contest

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Dinwiddie County is accepting submissions from students for the county's first-time voter sticker design contest.

The contest is open to students in grades K-12 who reside in the county. Officials will be accepting entries until April 15.

The winning design will be featured on Dinwiddie County's "I Voted" stickers for first-time voters.

The rules of the contest include, but are not limited to:

  • For participants under the age of 18, parental consent is required
  • The design must include the phrase, or a variation of the phrase, "First Time Voter"
  • All artwork must be non-partisan -- it cannot favor a political party or candidate

In terms of rules regarding the artwork itself:

  • It may be created digitally or in hard copy
  • It must be an original sketch, drawing, painting, collage or electronic publishing/illustration/imaging
  • Designs must be circular and be clear when resized to a 2'' diameter
  • Digital images must be PDF, JPG, JPEG, PSD, PNG, TIF, TIFF, EPS, Illustrator, Publisher, DOCX, DOC, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, TXT, CSV and have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi

To enter the contest, participants must fully and legibly complete an entry form. Only one entry will be accepted per participant, but you may enter as either an individual or a group.

The Dinwiddie County General Registrar and Electoral Board will choose the top designs. Finalists, as well as the eventual winner, will be notified through the phone and/or email address listed in the entry form.

Those who wish to vote on designs will be able to do so through the Dinwiddie County Facebook page.
