Driver dead after running off I-295, overturning in Henrico
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver is dead after their vehicle ran off Interstate 295 South in Henrico County and overturned.
At about 2:37 p.m. on Friday, May 9, state troopers with Virginia State Police arrived at the scene of a crash on I-295 southbound near the Pocahontas Parkway exit.
State police learned that a single vehicle had run off the road and flipped.
The unidentified driver died as a result of their injuries. They were the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, state police said.
Suspect sought after burglary on West Main Street in Richmond
As of 3:31 p.m., the south right lane in the area of the crash is closed and traffic is backed up just under two miles, per the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The crash remains under investigation.
