Driver ejected in deadly Chesterfield crash, leaving another injured

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A man died after being ejected from a car, and another person was injured in a crash Sunday night in Chesterfield.

On Sunday, Jan. 4, at 8:51 p.m., Chesterfield County Police responded to a single vehicle crash in the 11600 block of Old Stage Road, where they found a single vehicle off the side of the road.

The car had driven off the side of the road, where it struck multiple trees, causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital but later died due to his injuries.

The other passenger was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chesterfield County police are still investigating the crash, but they said speed was a factor.
