Employee not yet charged after shooting, killing man in Richmond restaurant
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Charges have not been filed after an employee at a Richmond restaurant shot and killed a 37-year-old man who was "possibly attempting a robbery."
At around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, officers were called to Sugar's Crab Shack on Chamberlayne Avenue for the report of a person shot, according to the Richmond Police Department.
A man, later identified as 37-year-old Dominique Epps, was found down and unresponsive inside the business with a gunshot wound. Officials said he died at the scene.
As of the time of reporting, the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney has not placed charges after it was revealed that an employee "exchanged gunfire" with Epps, who police said was "possibly attempting a robbery."
Richmond Police said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
