Arts Community Celebration: You’re invited to explore & experience the Alleghany Highland’s art community in scenic, friendly Clifton Forge, Virginia for the Arts Community Celebration held on September 20-21. Each year, the local arts community comes together to showcase the arts & artists of the region. You’ll find artist demonstrations, arts activities & classes, gallery exhibits, live performances, an art market, local restaurant specials, food trucks, and more!

9th Annual Campsite Cook-off: Hosted annually at Whispering Pines Campground at Douthat State Park, the 9th Annual Campsite Cook-off will be held on Saturday, September 28th. An opportunity for BBQ tastings, music, craft vendors, and beverages will all be available. This campfire cook off is a bit different than most. In this one, the cooks won’t know what type of meat they will be cooking until the night they arrive. Friday night, the teams will be given meat to prepare overnight. Spectators will be able to walk to each of the 21 campsites (teams) and taste samples of the participant’s tasty creations. Sounds like a great way to enjoy the beginning of the Fall season!

Farm Fest: In its first year, this exciting fall inspired festival is hosted in downtown Covington and will feature a tractor parade, live music, craft vendors, farm animals, tractor displays, food vendors, beverages and more! Celebrating local agriculture heritage and education, Farm Fest will take place on October 12^th at noon, and will run through the evening hours. With fun activities for the whole family, and a date that is set right during peak season for beautiful foliage, this is certainly an event you want to put on your calendar!

Clifton Forge Fall Foliage Festival: Held annually in the charming town of Clifton Forge, this festival is a celebration of local culture and crafts. This festival will be held October 18-20 in downtown Clifton Forge.

Mountain Magic Festival: Held annually at the Jackson River Sports Complex in Covington and sponsored by the Covington Parks & Recreation Department, this event has something for the whole family and is all about great fall fun! The Mountain Magic Festival “Fall in Our Town” & Pumpkins in the Park events are always packed with tons of fun for both children and adults. Children will be able to walk through a pumpkin patch and pick out a pumpkin of their choosing to decorate. There will also be a Trunk-Or-Treat, a Chili Cook-Off and Apple Baking Contest.
