False child abuse claims at New Kent County daycare, ex-employee faces charges

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A former employee at a New Kent County daycare now faces charges for false child abuse allegations.
According to New Kent County Sheriff's Office, deputies have concluded the investigation of child abuse allegations at Stay & Play Daycare -- which started after the former employee reported alleged acts of abuse at the daycare center.
After conducting a thorough investigation, interviewing multiple witnesses and following up -- the sheriff's office confirmed the allegations against the daycare were "unfounded and lacked credibility."
34-year-old She'lea Haskins of Toano was charged with the following:
- False Report to Law Enforcement
- Obstruction of Justice
- Slander
Haskins is scheduled to appear in court on March 4 at 8 a.m.
