Father arrested after daughter shot, killed in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man has been arrested after his daughter was found shot dead in a Richmond apartment on Saturday.
Just before 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to an apartment in the 700 block of South Harrison Street for report of an armed party.
When they arrived, they found 22-year-old Alicia Ellis of Richmond down on the floor of the apartment with a gunshot wound. She died at the scene.
Her father, 55-year-old Alonzo Ellis of Richmond, was arrested in connection with this incident. He was charged with shooting within an occupied dwelling and child neglect.
Additional charges are pending, per authorities.
