Fire destroys most of funeral home building in Amelia County

AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A fire has destroyed most of a funeral home building in Amelia County on Tuesday.
According to Amelia County Fire and EMS, a fire broke out in the morning on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, located at 16408 Court Street.
Officials said much of the building was destroyed, and responders were still on the scene as of 1 p.m. on Tuesday and were expected to remain there for the next few hours.

There were no reported injuries, according to officials.
