Fluvanna Sheriff’s Office search for new clues in man’s disappearance in Palmyra 15 years ago
FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Next week marks 15 years since a man disappeared from Fluvanna County with his car abandoned in a Target parking lot, and the sheriff's office is still seeking new information.
Robert Lee Hourihan, who was 33 at the time he went missing, was last seen at around 8 a.m. on April 8, 2011, at the E.W. Thomas Grocery Store in Palmyra. He is described as a white man with red hair and blue eyes standing between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 11.
Hourihan was wearing blue work pants, a gray work shirt and brown boots. His car, a white 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, had a Virginia plate that read "TARAMAE."

Authorities initially believed Hourihan was traveling to work in Richmond, but later findings revealed that the city may not have been his destination. Weeks after Hourihan went missing, his car was located in a Target parking lot in La Plata, Md., more than 100 miles from where he was last seen.
The sheriff's office said they suspect foul play in the incident.
Hourihan's family and the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office continue to seek answers. Information leading to the discovery of his whereabouts may be rewarded up to $20,000. Anyone with information should contact investigator Jeremy Wood at 434-589-8211 or Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.
