Former PSU football player from Richmond and teammate charged with rape
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two former Penn State University football players, one of which is from Richmond, have been charged with rape. Kaveion Keys, 19, of Richmond, Virginia, is a former linebacker and Jameial Lyons Jr., 19, of Philadelphia, is a former defensive end for the university. Both are facing felony sex crime charges from an incident in the State College Borough. Keys is facing charges of rape, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and sexual assault. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 30. Lyons Jr. is facing charges of rape, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, voluntary deviate sexual intercourse, invasion of privacy and aggravated indecent assault without consent. While details about the incident are limited at this time the University has confirmed that both men are no longer enrolled. "We are aware of the serious charges against Mr. Keys and Mr. Lyons, who are no longer enrolled at the University. The safety of our community is our top priority, and Penn State takes any report of sexual assault or misconduct very seriously and investigates any and all reports," A representative from Penn State said.
