Goochland County Animal Care and Protection program receives “No-Kill” award

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Goochland County Animal Care and Protection program has announced that they have received the "No-Kill" Award for the third consecutive year in a row.

According to a press release from the county, the award recognizes the organizations commitment to saving the lives of animals through maintaining a "no-kill" status.

The status is achieved by organizations that have a a save rate of 90% or higher.

"I am extremely proud of the team at Animal Care and Protection," said Director of Animal Care and Protection, Job Greene. "It reflects the hard work and passion of our staff, volunteers, and community supporters who work tirelessly to ensure that every animal has the chance to find a loving home."

The award is given annually through the Best Friends Animal Society, a national organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats within America's shelters.

"I am extremely proud of the team at Animal Care and Protection," said Dr. Jeremy Raley, Goochland County Administrator. "This achievement highlights their commitment to providing homes to each and every animal in their care.”
