Goochland’s 19-pound cat adopted after he made it onto 8News

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A nearly 20-pound Goochland County cat has a new fur-ever home after coverage from 8News and local radio stations.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, the Goochland County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center shared the story of Mischief, a 5-year-old grey cat who is 19 pounds of pure love, on Facebook.

According to officials, Mischief made his way to the shelter after his previous owner sadly passed away. Being at the shelter without that owner -- and on a diet -- was making him quite sad. However, his specific needs meant he needed a specific type of home.

So, that same day, 8News ran Mischief's story both on-air and online, hoping the increased attention would help him find that home.
