Goodwill to offer 50% off Halloween costumes in central and coastal Virginia stores

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Families will soon be able to purchase Halloween outfits at half price starting tomorrow, courtesy of Goodwill stores in central and coastal Virginia.

The thrift store chain has announced that it will offer 50% off on Halloween costumes, accessories and decorations, citing inflation and rising costs to prevent families from participating in the festivities this year.

Goodwill will offer the Halloween discount from Tuesday, Oct. 28, through Thursday, Nov. 6.

“Families are re-thinking what they spend on celebrations,” said a spokesperson with Goodwill. “At Goodwill, you can bring your creative vision to life for a fraction of the price. Every purchase helps someone in our community gain skills and employment.”

Tariff or treat? Economists say Halloween prices could get spooky

According to data from the release, one in five Americans won't celebrate Halloween this year, with 72% saying they're cutting back because of inflation.

After Halloween, Goodwill said families can donate gently used costumes and decorations back to the store to help others celebrate next year.
