HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A grand opening event will be held on Friday for a new center in Hopewell that will provide a safe space and resources for individuals at a high risk of violence in the Tri-Cities area.

A grand opening event and ribbon cutting for the REAL LIFE Tri-Cities Project SAF Center will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, at 311 Cavalier Square in Hopewell.

According to officials, the REAL LIFE Tri-Cities Project SAF Center will serve the greater Tri-Cities area and provide a safe space for individuals at a high risk of violence, as well as offer critical resources such as life coaching, life skills training and workforce development.

Key features of the Project SAF Center include:

  • Workforce development programs to equip participants with job skills and career
    pathways.
  • Life coaching and mentorship which offers personalized guidance for those seeking a new
    direction.
  • A developing weights and workout area that is accessible to participants who reach specific
