Greene County man arrested for alleged child sex crime

GREENE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A man was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Office and charged with an alleged child sex crime.

According to the sheriff's office, they received a report of "sexual abuse involving a juvenile" on the night of Sunday, Aug. 24.

Following an investigation, officials obtained warrants on Aug. 28 for Anthony Wayne Ryder, who was charged with aggravated sexual battery with a child between 13 and 17 years of age.

Currently, Ryder is being held without bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail. He will appear in Greene County District Court at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 3.
