HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Hadad's Lake, the recreational water park landmark in the Varina area in Henrico County, will be auctioned next month after officially going up for sale back in June 2023.

The Henrico property will be auctioned next month. Bidding will start at 9 a.m. on April 7 and close at 11:15 a.m. on April 9.

According to broker Rae Nunnally with Tranzon Key Auctions, the company conducting this auction, the minimum starting bid is set at $300,000, which is below the county's most recent property assessment of $438,000. It initially went up for sale with a listing price of $975,000 in June 2023.

The home, which was established in 1965 by Ronald Hadad Sr. and his father and is estimated to be 36 acres, has become a beloved local destination.

The land is 6.53 acres and is located at 7900 Osborne Turnpike. This lot includes most of the recreational facilities, including the water park, a 5,400-square-foot clubhouse, a 3,300-square-foot snack bar, a 1,500-square-foot screen porch picnic area and more.

According to Tranzon's Key Auctions website, those interested can preview the property from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, before the auction begins.
