Hand grenade found in Charles City resident’s yard
CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A property owner in Charles City discovered a hand grenade today, while doing yard work.
At around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, a property owner discovered a hand grenade with the pin still in it, while doing work in their yard on Carters Mill Road.
According to a Facebook post from the sheriff's department, Virginia State Police and Charles City County Fire and EMS stepped in to respond to the incident as well. VSP removed the grenade, and the area is now marked safe.
