Hanover County announces water is safe to drink amidst Richmond boil water advisory
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Hanover County has announced that residents are not under a boil water advisory at this time in a post on X.
According to the county, officials are working closely with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), as well as regional partners in Richmond, to monitor Richmond's water plant.
Per the county, water pressure from Richmond to Hanover County is safely above the 20 PSI threshold -- which means a boil water advisory is not required to be placed. However, as a precaution, the county has asked residents to conserve water until further notice by turning off automatic irrigation systems.
Hanover said it will share updates via X.
Henrico County residents are also not under a boil water advisory, as the county said it temporarily disconnected from Richmond's water distribution system.
