Hanover County residents reminded of free Naloxone by Mail Program

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The town of Ashland is reminding Hanover County residents of the county's free Naloxone by Mail program, which is intended to reduce opioid overdoses.

Naloxone is a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The town of Ashland said it restores normal breathing, making it an essential tool in emergencies.

Hanover County residents who are 18 years or older are able to order naloxone online and have it delivered via postal service.
