Hanover County School Board approves 2025-2026 school year calendar
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Hanover County School Board approved its new 2025-2026 school year calendar. In a meeting on Tuesday evening, Jan. 14, Hanover County's school board unanimously approved the school year calendar for 2025-2026. According to Hanover County School Board, the approved calendar will include: A staggered start to the school year. For students in Kindergarten, First Grade, Sixth Grade and Ninth Grade school will begin on Monday, Aug. 18 -- all other students will start on Tuesday, Aug. 19. All students and teachers will get a full week off for students at Thanksgiving. Two full weeks and three full weekends off for Winter Break. The last day before break will be Friday, Dec. 19 and students will return back from break on Monday, Jan. 5. Spring Break will begin March 30 until April 3.
