Hanover County to honor 13 centenarians with celebration

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Hanover County will honor 13 centenarians, or people who have reached the milestone age of 100, on Thursday.

Hanover County will hold its third annual Centenarian Celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, at the Covenant Woods' Lodge Building, located at 7090 Covenant Woods Drive, to honor 13 county residents who have reached -- or will soon reach -- the age of 100 years old.

According to the county, nine returning honorees and four "newly minted" centenarians will be recognized this year, with the oldest attendee aged 104 years old.

Members of the Hanover County Board of Supervisors will present framed birthday certificates to each honoree, followed by lunch and birthday cake.
